Kid Pix Slide Show
Introduction
Kid Pix Slide Show demo is a segment
of a larger year long presentation. My combination 3/4 th grade
class, of sometimes 30 Spanish-English bilingual students designed
and created this Kid Pix slide show. We learned to use the program
together as neither they nor I had experience with this program.
Most of the students had no piror experience with multimedia software
and very little practice using a computer. None of the students
had computers at home then. We learned to use the program together
in small steps. We teamed up to specialize using different tools,
such as paint a picture, moopies, and stampinators. Then we exchanged
and shared the "know how" of using the program so that
all students experienced the different tools. Everyone in the
class created their own Kid Pix slide to make a larger slide show
to share with their parents for Open House night. Students went
on to create other projects on their own. Many of their skills
transferred into other similar programs as students later demonstrated.
It was a total immersion process into multimedia. That is how
